Quartet of Mile Runners Conclude Regular Season for Corban Indoor Track & Field

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Corban University Men's and Women's Track & Field teams concluded their indoor regular season earlier this afternoon at the Chiles Center on the campus of University of Portland, with a small contingency of student-athletes taking to the track one final time before turning their attention to the outdoor portion of their schedule.

"Today, we finished off the regular indoor season with four athletes competing in the mile at UP," Warriors' head coach Todd Bos stated. "Luke had the top performance with his third-straight PR in the mile in three-consecutive weeks. Now, we get back to our training to get the entire team ready for the outdoor season."

Despite nine student-athletes originally scheduled to run this afternoon in Portland, only four took to the track due to the winter bug working its way through the team and hindering their ability to perform at peak conditions this weekend.

Of the Warriors that did compete, freshman Luke Harkey turned in yet another personal best in the mile run, placing fifth out of 25 runners with a 4:34.59 final time in the men's mile. Sophomores Noah Andres and Nathan Pfaff finished in 14th and 22nd in the same event, respectively.

True freshman Abigail Scott was the lone female member of the Navy and Gold to hit the track today, as she logged a 6:03.69 in the women's mile race that earned a 19th place finish.

The Warriors that qualified for the 2024 NAIA Indoor National Championships will spend the next two weeks preparing for the national meet that begins on February 29th, while the remainder of the track and field teams will turn their attention to outdoor season and the spring opener at NCAA DIII Willamette University on March 2nd.
