2024 CCC Women’s Wrestling Championship

ATHERTON, Calif. – (Final ResultsMenlo College earned its third title in the fourth Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Wrestling Championship, presented by U.S. Bank.

(Team ScoresNo. 1 Menlo College led all teams with 176.5 total points and No. 4 Southern Oregon University followed with 172.5 points. No. 5 University of Providence earned 144 points and No. 12 Vanguard University received 82 points. No. 20 Eastern Oregon University was next with 72 points and (RV) The Evergreen State College was right behind with 69.5 points. Simpson University rounded out all teams with 10.5 points.

Individual Champions:
101lbs- No. 1 Erin Hikiji (UP) received a bye the first round before earning two technical falls in the semifinals and championship bout.
 
109lbs- No. 7 Paige Morales (UP) completed two technical falls before winning the championship bout by 4-3 decision.
 
116lbs- No. 6 Ajayzee Zaballos (Menlo) completed a pin and technical fall to make it to the championship bout where she was victorious by 11-4 decision.
 
123lbs- No. 6 Alana Vivas (Menlo) won by 11-2 decision and pin before taking the championship bout by medical forfeit.
 
130lbs- No. 1 Carolina Moreno (SOU) completed two pins to make it to the championship bout where she won by technical fall for her second straight individual title.
 
136lbs- No. 4 Waipuilani Estrella-Beauch (UP) completed two pins to make it to the championship bout where she won by 12-10 decision for her second straight individual title.
 
143lbs- No. 7 Desiree Jones (Menlo) earned a technical fall and pin to make it to the championship bout where she completed another technical fall.  
 
155lbs- No. 11 Caitlyn Davis (SOU) won two technical falls to make it to the championship bout where she defeated her opponent by 9-4 decision.  
 
170lbs- No. 8 Shenita Lawson (SOU) won by technical fall in her first match before completing two pins to earn the individual title.
 
191lbs- No. 1 Tavia Heidelberg-Till (Menlo) received two byes before securing her allocation with a pin for her second straight individual title.

There were two true placement matches for automatic qualifying bids at 130lbs and 143lbs. These matches were to determine who earned the automatic bid and did not affect the final places or team scores.
Paige Respicio and Kailey Reese of Providence both earned pins for victories in their respective weight classes.
 
After the conference tournaments have concluded, a 10-member committee consisting of conference raters and oversight members will meet to select the remaining at-large qualifiers until 210 wrestlers have been selected, which will be released Tuesday, February 27th by 5 p.m. (CST). The seeding and preliminary brackets will be announced on NAIA.org by 5 p.m. (CST) on Friday, March 1st, 2024.
 
Qualifiers from this weekend’s event earned the right to compete at the 2nd Women’s Wrestling National Championship which will be held March 8th and 9th at Harold Newman Arena in Jamestown, North Dakota.
