Warriors Conclude Opening Indoor Weekend with Sprinters and Long Distance Runners in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Corban University Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field programs concluded their opening weekend of event appearances with fourteen student-athletes competing in four different lengths of varying short and long distant races at the UP Indoor Two, hosted by NCAA DI University of Portland.

"Today was a nice break from out training to test out our fitness on a challenging indoor track," Warriors' head coach Todd Bos stated earlier today. "We passed with flying colors and saw good results from our training. We're looking forward to taking the team to Spokane next week to run at a great facility. I am pleased with where the team is at after our opening weekend."

A three-man squad of sophomore Josiah del Prado, senior Jacob Moore, and redshirt sophomore Anthony Salisbury appeared in the men's 200m race today for the first time in the 2024 season, with del Prado (23.24 taking home the highest individual Warrior placement of the day in third place overall out of 33 total athletes. Moore and Salisbury placed 17th (24.65) and 31st 26.05), respectively.

Senior Noah Miller was the lone Navy and Gold student-athlete to run in the men's 400m race, logging a 55.08 to place 14th overall. On the women's side of the 400m, junior Elizabeth Hernandez (1:03.53) and redshirt freshman Patience Haff (1:05.35) both finished in the top 20 in their only races of today's meet.

Stretching the distance upward into the women's 3,000m race, senior Samantha Dara kicked off her final season of collegiate competition with a 15th overall placement via her 5:24.48 recorded time, finishing before numerous NCAA athletes from the DI, DII, and DIII ranks.

Finally, six different Corban men's long distant runners competed in the 3,000m race and crossed the finish line in a variety of positions that ranged from freshman Luke Harkey in 17th with a 4:43.40 final time and ending with freshman Jamin Potloff in 34th and a final time of 5:26.40. Concluding their races in-between Harkey and Potloff were freshman Luke DeVault (4:43.42), sophomores Grant Anderson (4:49.97) and Noah Andres (4:51.18), and redshirt freshman Nathan Pfaff (5:03.67).
