KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Spencer Hoffman of Bushnell University has been named the NAIA Men's Basketball National Player of the Week. Hoffman was selected based on his performance(s) from January 29 - February 4 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/group nominees.
Hoffman, a senior center from Eugene, Ore., recorded two huge double-doubles for the Beacons (13-9, 10-6 CCC) in dominant road wins against Northwest University (101-93) and The Evergreen State College (97-81). He averaged 28 points and 16.5 rebounds per game over the weekend while shooting nearly 76 percent from the field.
Against Evergreen, Hoffman’s outstanding 30 points and 21 rebounds marked the second 30/20 game in school history. He made 6-of-7 free throws and across both games he totaled 33 rebounds, two steals and an assist on top of 56 points in 72 minutes played.
Next up for Bushnell is a tough Friday match up against the second team in the conference standings, Lewis-Clark State College.
