CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following six CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Rize Laboratory Players of the Week for their performances during competition from Feb. 26 – March 3, 2024.
Beach Volleyball – Pair
Southern Oregon University’s Madi Gray and Tessa Zimmermann were named the first ever Rize Laboratory Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week.
The junior and freshman duo won both their matches this week against Simpson University (21-6, 21-6) and College of Idaho (21-12, 21-13).
Baseball – Player
Bushnell University’s Isaiah Hart was named the Rize Laboratory Baseball Player of the Week.
Hart, a senior outfielder from Lake Zurich, Ill., had an outstanding weekend for the Beacons as they went 3-1 in the series against College of Idaho. He recorded nine hits in 12 at bats for a .750 batting average and a 1.083 slugging percentage. Across the week he tallied three runs, five RBIs, and knocked out a home run while drawing two walks and stealing two bases. Defensively, he was perfect in the field with three putouts and an assist.
Baseball – Pitcher
Lewis-Clark State College’s Shane Spencer was named the Rize Laboratory Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Spencer, a senior from Las Vegas, Nev., had a fantastic appearance on the mound in his LC State debut. He threw 5.1 solid innings in one of the Warriors victories over University of British Columbia (13-7). He only allowed one hit and struck out 10 batters to hold a 3.38 ERA.
Softball – Player
University of Providence’s Madi Moore was named the Rize Laboratory Softball Player of the Week.
Moore, a senior pitcher from Great Falls, Mont., led the Argos to a series sweep over Corban University to open conference play. She recorded 10 hits in 12 at bats for an outstanding .833 batting average. She added eight runs and an RBI while drawing four walks and stealing eight bases.
Softball – Pitcher
University of Providence’s Madi Moore was named the Rize Laboratory Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Moore was just as much of a force on the mound, leading the Argos all around in four wins. She allowed just two earned runs in 15 innings pitched while striking out an impressive 34 batters across the weekend to hold a 0.93 ERA.
