CORVALLIS, Ore. – The penultimate regular season meet of the 2024 spring season kicked off today for the Corban University Men's and Women's Track & Field programs, where yet another national standard was met at the opening day of the OSU High Performance Meet hosted by NCAA DI Oregon State University.

"Overall, we had a successful day with Samantha's national standard in the steeplechase," commented Corban head coach Todd Bos. "We will be back tomorrow for more and hope to add a few more conference qualifiers."
After her first few attempts this spring finished just short of the mark, senior Samantha Dara finally hit the NAIA "B" standard in the women's 3,000m steeplechase that she's been so close to achieving, making her the fourth Warrior to hit a national qualifying mark so far this spring season. Her 11:26.26 final time today in Corvallis is currently the 24th best time in the NAIA this year.
The only Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) qualifier added to the Navy and Gold's lengthy list came on the men's side of competition, as freshman Benjamin Krebs ran a 22.50 in the 200m race. Sophomore Zander Moha was also in on the personal bests today, as he ran a sub 15-minute mark (14:59.09), which places third all-time in the Corban record books.
Joining Dara today on the women's side in setting new season bests was junior thrower Gabrielle Tata-Rodrigues, who launched a 40.51m toss in the discus throw to move even higher up the conference leaderboards. Tata-Rodrigues was the CCC runner-up in the event last year and poses as one of the biggest threats to dethroning the reigning conference champion from Eastern Oregon University.
Corban will remain in Corvallis throughout tomorrow for the second half of events at the OSU High Performance Meet.
