UBC Ends LC State’s Postseason Run

TOURNAMENT CENTRAL

LEWISTON, Idaho – After 10 straight wins over British Columbia, the Thunderbirds took the 11th meeting of the year to end the season for Lewis-Clark State. Warrior Baseball ends the 2024 campaign with a record of 38-13.

After digging into a hole early, the Warrior pitching settled in, but the bats were unable to respond in the 8-3 loss.

A two-run blast by Mitchell Middlemiss in the top of the second gave UBC an early lead before the Thunderbirds added on with five in the fourth for a 7-0 advantage.

The Warriors scratched a run across after a bases-loaded walk put LC on the board. Charlie Updegrave led off the home half of the fourth with a double, Brandon Cabrera singled and back-to-back walks to Pu'ukani De Sa and Bulla Ephan brought in a run.

Another bases-loaded walk in the eighth brought in LC's second run. Cabrera walked before back-to-back singles by De Sa and Ephan loaded the bases. Nick Seamons drew a walk to plate one and Leo Rivera drove a ball into center for an RBI single.

The Thunderbirds added a run late in the game to push the difference to 8-3.

Landon Webb had the best outing of a Warrior pitching with five innings thrown. He struck out four batters. Cameron Smith closed out the final two outs of his LC State career with a pair of strikeouts.

Seamons, Updegrave and Carbera each had two hits in the game.
