CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference Track and Field Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, is set to begin Friday in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Over 300 competitors will be vying for podium honors, as well as looking to solidify qualifying marks for the NAIA National Championships to be held late this month.

At the last CCC Track and Field Championships, Eastern Oregon University men took the team title while University of British Columbia won on the women’s side.

The top-three placers in each event will earn All-Conference accolades. The top male and female athletes will be named in the track events, as well as the field events.

Action begins Friday with the men’s and women’s hammer throw starting at 2:00 p.m. The first race to hit the rubber will be the men’s and women’s 4x800 relay at 2:00 p.m. followed by the men’s and women’s racewalk, both only qualify for the NAIA Championship and won’t count towards CCC team scores. The first CCC championship track event will be the women’s steeplechase at 4:30 p.m.

The two-day event concludes Saturday, starting with a graduation ceremony for a number of senior student-athletes who will be competing during their official campus commencement. Then action will kick off with multiple field events beginning at 11:00 a.m. The women’s 100-meter dash finals take off at 2:00 p.m. on the track. The last event of the meet will be the men’s 4x400 relay, set to begin at 4:25 p.m. Final awards will be handed out at 4:45 p.m.
