KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its NAIA Scholar Teams as a part of its annual NAIA National Awards Day on Monday. The Cascade Collegiate Conference saw a total of 127 teams earn the NAIA Scholar Team Award.
Corban University led the conference with 17 CCC sponsored teams. Bushnell University and Eastern Oregon University were right behind with 16 each. Southern Oregon University claimed 15 team winners while College of Idaho and Oregon Tech each secured 13. Lewis-Clark State College (12 teams), Multnomah (10 teams), Northwest University (nine teams), and Carroll College (three teams) also made the list. Warner Pacific University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and Rocky Mountain College rounded out the CCC teams with one each.
The Warner Pacific women’s basketball team led the conference for the 2023-24 academic year with an impressive 3.90 team GPA which landed 7th overall out of all institutions.
For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
