RESULTS
MOSCOW, Idaho – Freshman Cameron Carrera and senior Ike Hopper got the weekend underway for LC State Men's Track and Field on Friday with the first four events of the seven-event heptathlon at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open. The day saw multiple personal bests throughout the team.
Carrera sits in sixth place in the heptathlon with 2,427 points. He was sixth in the long jump (6.18m) and high jump (1.81.) with a PR in both. Hopper is 11
th with 2,219 points.
Junior Trenton Johnson tied his personal best in the long jump with a mark of 6.65m. He placed 10
th and freshman Max Funk also hit a PR at 5.79m to place 14
th.
Sam Weller led a pair of Warrior throwers in the weight throw with a mark of 12.03m. He was 30
th with freshman Jr Mendoza in 36
th with a PR of 10.56m. Fellow first year Brandon Decker cleared a personal best 3.85m in the pole vault to finish 16
th behind James Bogdanowicz in 13
th (4.00m). Ian Gardom wrapped up field events with a 13
th-place mark in the high jump (1.78m).
A trio of Warriors competed in the 200m with Preston Cooper leading the way in 16
th place (22.54). Jordan Castillo was 22
nd (22.69) and Tanner Sibert placed 52
nd (24.51). Three more runners saw action in the 3,000m, led by Kobe Wessels in 29
th place (9:05.60). Ben Vernon finished 38
th (9:17.62) and Jace Joslyn was 50
th (9:58.64).
The team of Tristin O'Brien, London Kirk, Clay Shumaker and Connor Alexander finished fifth in the men's distance medley relay. They completed the DMR with at time of 10:37.58.
