CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following six CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Players of the Week for their performances during competition from December 30 – January 5, 2025.
Men’s Basketball – Defensive
Corban University’s Luc Krystkowiak was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
Krystkowiak, a senior guard from Salt Lake City, Utah, helped the Warriors to a successful week, including a 59-56 upset over No. 2-ranked College of Idaho. He recorded 15 rebounds, two steals, and two blocks on top of 31 points in 66 total minutes played.
Men’s Basketball – Offensive
Corban University’s Spivey Word was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.
Word, a junior guard from San Bernardino, Calif., led the Warriors to a 2-1 week. He shot 48.1 percent from the field with 61 points, seven rebounds, seven steals and a block in 82 total minutes played.
Women’s Basketball – Defensive
Eastern Oregon University’s Kelsie Siegner was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.
Siegner, a junior guard from Crane, Ore., helped the Mounties to two victories over Bushnell University (71-61) and Corban University (64-48). She recorded 19 rebounds, five steals, five blocks, and two assists on top of 41 points in 66 total minutes played.
Women’s Basketball – Offensive
Eastern Oregon University’s Brie Holecek was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.
Holecek, a senior forward from Spokane, Wash., led the Mounties to two wins over Bushnell University (71-61) and Corban University (64-48). She recorded a 50.0 field goal percentage with 44 total points. She also added 13 rebounds and four assists in 69 total minutes played.
Men's Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 5-ranked Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Trenton Blomquist was named the CCC Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
Blomquist (197lbs), a freshman from Yuma, Ariz., showed out in his first match back from injury. In the dual against (RV) Arizona Christian University, he defeated No. 21 Michael Moreno by major decision.
Women's Wrestling – Wrestler
(RV) The Evergreen State College’s Flor Parker Borrero was named the CCC Women’s Wrestler of the Week.
Parker Borrero (160lbs), a junior Tacoma, Wash., is ranked No. 2 in her weight class. She earned first place at the Mat Cat Open by winning all four of her matches by pin.
