KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Waipuilani Estrella-Beauchamp, the 131-pounder from No. 4-ranked Univeristy of Providence took home the first NAIA Women's Wrestler of the Week award after a 5-0 performance at the Battle of the Rockies, including stunning the top-ranked wrestler in the nation by fall (2:28).
The Kahului, Hawaii, native did not allow an opponent to score a single point in her five matches, recording three wins by fall and two by tech fall.
Estrella-Beauchamp pinned Lilyahnna Hancock in 1:15, pinned Abby Wolf in 1:01, defeated Arshveer Sidhu 10-0, defeated Jade Morales 10-0, and pinned the returning national champion, Jumoke Adekoye, in 2:28 in the championship match.
Providence women's wrestling is back on the mat on Saturday, Nov. 15, when they head to Grand Junction, Colo to wrestle Colorado Mesa at 5:00 p.m. (MT).
