"Day two is in the books and our men improved by twenty strokes," Corban head coach Charlie Marshall detailed. "Strong play today by Brayden, Isaac, and David to lead the way for our us up the leaderboard."
No. 20-ranked Texas Wesleyan University (567) retained their lead for the team title today, yet No. 16-ranked Ottawa University-Arizona (572) rose one stroke closer after golfing even par for the day. They'll look to flip their runner-up position into a team tourney crown while fending off No. 18-ranked University of Victoria (580), RV Oregon Tech (582), and the University of British Columbia Okanagan (584).
A double-digit stroke improvement in today's round allowed the Warriors (630) to jump Dakota Wesleyan University (640) on the team leaderboard, which was also a better second round than the University of Benedictine-Mesa. The Navy and Gold's day one leader, senior Brayden Sparkman (150), carried his success into the second round by shaving off half of his bogey putts between rounds and decreasing his final stroke total by two and is in a four-way tie for 41st. True freshman Isaac Laro (153) trimmed off another three strokes of his own to sit in a tie for 53rd, followed by junior David Harvey (161) in a tie for 68th, junior Owen Heath (166) in a tie for 74th, and senior Shane Jacobus (173) in 79th.
The final day of the Firestorm Fall Classic will also represent the final fall tournament of 2025 for Corban men's golf, with their team time scheduled for 8am tomorrow morning.
