CCC Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following 13 CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Players of the Week for their performances during competition from February 3 – 9, 2025.

Men’s Basketball – Defensive
Multnomah’s Noah McCord was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.

McCord, a junior forward from Saratoga Springs, Utah, helped the Lions to two triple digit wins over The Evergreen State College (108-94) and Northwest University (110-103). Over the weekend he recorded 14 rebounds, seven steals, and two blocks on top of 27 points in 61 total minutes played.

Men’s Basketball – Offensive
No. 24-ranked Oregon Tech’s Jamison Guerra was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.

Guerra, a senior guard from Sherwood, Ore., led the Owls to two stellar wins over Corban University (94-67) and Bushnell University (82-78). He shot an outstanding 63.2 percent from the field with 35 points, 16 assists, seven rebounds, two steals, and a block in 70 total minutes played.

Women’s Basketball – Defensive
No. 23-ranked Oregon Tech’s Alexis Elquist was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.

Elquist, a senior forward from Elko, Nev., helped the Owls to two victories over Corban University (70-60) and Bushnell University (79-69). She recorded 26 rebounds, four blocks, and a steal on top of 23 points in 62 total minutes played.

Women’s Basketball – Offensive
The Evergreen State College’s Sydney VanNess was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.

VanNess, a senior guard from Lake Forest Park, Wash., had a huge weekend for the Geoducks, helping lead to three wins over Northwest University (74-51), Multnomah (64-63) and Warner Pacific University (85-80). She recorded a 53.3 field goal percentage with 58 points. She also added 16 rebounds and 12 assists in 113 total minutes played.

Men's Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 13-ranked Corban University’s Antonio Garcia was named the CCC Men’s Wrestler of the Week.

Garcia (285lbs), a junior from Salem, Ore., is ranked No. 10 in his weight class and had a stellar weekend for the Warriors. He defeated two NCAA Dlll opponents by pin in Corban’s duals against Linfield University and Pacific University.

Men’s Indoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
College of Idaho’s Daniel Butler was named the CCC Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Butler, a senior runner from Buhl, Idaho, had a speedy weekend at the Lew Thorne Invite. He finished first in the mile with a time of 4:07.37 for an “A” Standard which currently ranks No. 2 in the NAIA this season and set a new school record. He also helped the DMR reach an “A” Standard and finish first with a time of 10:05.80.

Men’s Indoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
Eastern Oregon University’s Tanner Nett was named the CCC Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Nett, a senior thrower from Boise, Idaho, had a successful weekend at the Lew Thorne Invite. He achieved the top mark in the shot put with a distance of 17.04m while reaching an “A” Standard which currently ranked No. 4 in the NAIA this season.

Women’s Indoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
The Evergreen State College’s Alauna Carstens was named the CCC Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Carstens, a junior runner from Shelton, Wash., achieved an “A” Standard at the Riverfront Invitational. She finished first in the 5000 meter race with a time of 17:15.53 which currently ranks No. 6 in the NAIA this season.
 
Women’s Indoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
Lewis-Clark State College’s Sydnie Zywina was named the CCC Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
 
Zywina, a senior jumper from Orofino, Idaho, had a fantastic outing at the Lew Thorne Invite. She finished as the top competitor in the triple jump (12.01m) and long jump (5.78m) to reach two “A” Standards. She currently holds the No. 4 and No. 5 marks in the NAIA this season.

Baseball – Player
Oregon Tech’s Patrick Barry was named the CCC Baseball Player of the Week.
 
Barry, a senior shortstop from Reno, Nev., had an outstanding week for OIT, helping the Owls to a 2-3 week. He recorded eight hits, including three doubles for a .500 batting average and a .688 slugging percentage. Across the weekend he tallied three runs, seven RBIs, and stole two bases. Defensively he managed a perfect fielding percentage.

Baseball – Pitcher
College of Idaho’s Nate Vidlak was named the CCC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Vidlak, a junior from Grants Pass, Ore., had a fantastic performance on the mound against Central Washington University, leading the Yotes to a 7-0 shutout. In five innings he did not allow an earned run and only gave up one hit while striking out six batters for a perfect ERA.

Softball – Player
Carroll College’s Ella Seaman was named the CCC Softball Player of the Week.
 
Seaman, a freshman infielder from Belgrade, Mont., had a terrific collegiate debut in Arizona this week for the Fighting Saints. She recorded nine hits, including two doubles for a .360 batting average and a .440 slugging percentage. Across the weekend she tallied three RBIs and a run while defensively maintaining a .895 fielding percentage.

Softball – Pitcher
Southern Oregon University’s Ayla Davies was named the CCC Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Davies, a freshman from Burns, Ore., had an outstanding performance on the mound against Chaminade University, leading the Raiders to two victories. In eight total innings pitched, she did not allow an earned run and gave up just six hits while striking out six batters for a perfect ERA.
