Cascade Connects: Baseball Preview

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Tomorrow the 2025 Cascade Collegiate Conference Baseball season officially starts.
 
All eight CCC teams will take the field this weekend to begin the competition for the regular-season title. The Cascades Conference’s automatic qualifier to the NAIA National Tournament will be awarded to the winner of the CCC Baseball Tournament, presented by U.S. Bank., beginning on May 2.
 
Bushnell University enters the CCC season on top of the standings with an impressive 7-1 record and will kick off hosting Oregon Tech. Last year, the Beacons won the 2024 CCC Baseball Tournament. Currently, Bushnell holds the second highest slugging percentage (.515) and second lowest ERA (3.88) in the conference.
 
Oregon Tech currently has a 7-2 overall record as they prepare to face Bushnell in the opening weekend. OIT is leading the CCC in batting average (.344), slugging percentage (.584), and home runs (15). The Owls also claimed the last two CCC Baseball Players of the Week honors.
 
College of Idaho is second in the standings with a 10-2 overall record. C of I will start conference play hosting the reigning regular season champions of Lewis-Clark State College. The Yotes currently lead the CCC in on base percentage (.458), runs scored (121), hits (129), and RBIs (112). C of I has also secured the last two CCC Pitcher of the Week honors.
 
Lewis-Clark State College was picked to defend its crown in the CCC preseason poll and ranked No. 7 in the NAIA preseason rating. The Warriors have a 2-4 overall record and will start the conference season against College of Idaho.
 
Eastern Oregon University is 3-4 so far this season and will begin conference play against British Columbia.
 
University of British Columbia is currently last in the standings with a 2-6 overall record and will start conference action hosting Eastern Oregon. The Thunderbirds were picked second in the CCC preseason poll and ranked No. 24 in the NAIA preseason rating.
 
Corban University begins CCC play hosting the new Warner Pacific program while holding a 3-4 overall record.
 
Warner Pacific University will play the programs first CCC game against Corban. The Knights begin its season at 1-1 and currently hold the lowest ERA (3.71) in the conference.
