CORVALLIS, Ore. – The No. 10-ranked Southern Oregon University men's wrestling team was named the Under Armour Team of the Week for February 17 – 23, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
This week, Southern Oregon was named the 2025 CCC men's wrestling champions. This is the program's first outright title after being named co-champions with Menlo in 2018.
SOU recorded 150.5 total team points, passing runner-up No. 5 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University by 13.5 points.
Evan Potter (141lbs) faced Bo Davis (CRB) in the semifinals and won by 7-2 decision. He then competed against Adam Stanley (ERAU) in the championship bout and won by a major decision.
Aaron Gandara (157lbs) defeated Aden Graves (UP) in the semifinals by a 2-0 decision. He then won against David Rubio (CRB) in the championship match by a 4-2 decision.
Asher Ruchti (197lbs) defeated Austin Vanek (MSUN) in the semifinals by 8-1 decision. He then outscored Trenton Blomquist (ERAU) by a 5-3 decision in the championship.
Vonn Fenn (125lbs), Dylan Clark (133lbs), Simon Graeber (133lbs), Dylan Straley (157), Braylin Rucht (174lbs), Adrian Chavez-Morales (184lbs), and Elias Corona (197lbs) all earned automatic qualifications to the 2025 NAIA Men's Wrestling Championship Tournament.
Aaron Gandara was named the Outstanding Wrestler of the Tournament and Joel Gibson was named Coach of the Year.
The Raiders will now prepare for the 2025 NAIA Men's Wrestling Championship Tournament which will take place March 6 – March 8, 2025, in Park City, Kansas.
