CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following 12 CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Players of the Week for their performances during competition from January 27 – February 2, 2025.
Men’s Basketball – Defensive
No. 4-ranked College of Idaho’s Johnny Radford was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
Radford, a Graduate Student guard from Hailey, Idaho, helped the Yotes to two more wins over Bushnell University (79-57) and Corban University (81-59). Over the weekend he recorded 11 rebounds, three steals, and a block on top of 28 points in 42 total minutes played.
Men’s Basketball – Offensive
No. 24-ranked Oregon Tech’s Blake Jensen was named the CCC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.
Jensen, a senior forward from Sherwood, Ore., led the Owls to a stellar win over The Evergreen State College (122-92). He shot an outstanding 75.0 percent from the field with 41 points, 18 rebounds, two steals, and an assist in 61 total minutes played.
Women’s Basketball – Defensive
Walla Walla University’s Chariah Daniels was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
Daniels, a senior forward from Wichita, Kan., helped the Wolves to two victories over Multnomah (84-73) and Warner Pacific University (78-61). She recorded 24 rebounds and five steals on top of 26 points in 64 total minutes played.
Women’s Basketball – Offensive
No. 24-ranked Lewis-Clark State College’s Payton Hymas was named the CCC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.
Hymas, a junior guard from Middleton, Idaho, had a huge weekend for the Warriors, helping lead to two wins over Warner Pacific University (65-29) and Multnomah (92-47). She recorded a 68.4 field goal percentage with 36 points. She also added six rebounds, four assists, four steals, and a block in 39 total minutes played.
Men's Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 21-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Nico Rodriguez was named the CCC Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
Rodriguez (285lbs), a sophomore from Azle, Texas, is ranked No. 12 in his weight class and had a stellar weekend in the Mounties dual over No. 6-ranked Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He upset No. 2 Kenneth Copley by a 4-2 decision on Sunday.
Women's Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 4-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Jasmine Howard was named the CCC Women’s Wrestler of the Week.
Howard (117lbs), a junior from Azle, Texas, is ranked No. 6 in her weight class and continued to dominate at the Menlo Open. She went 5-1 with four wins by fall to take third place.
Men’s Indoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
Corban University’s Braydon Lee was named the CCC Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Lee, a sophomore runner from Boring, Ore., had a speedy weekend at the Corban Indoor Invite. He finished first in the 1000m with a time of 2:28.37 for a “B” Standard which currently ranks No. 10 in the NAIA this season.
Men’s Indoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
Bushnell University’s Jermaine Schexnayder was named the CCC Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Schexnayder, a sophomore jumper from Fresno, Calif., had a successful weekend at the UW Invitational. He was the top non-DI jumper in both of his events (triple jump, 14.52m) (high jump, 1.89m) and broke a pair of school records while reaching a “B” Standard in the triple jump.
Women’s Indoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
The Evergreen State College’s Izabelle Trefts was named the CCC Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Trefts, a junior racer from Milford, Maine, achieved an “A” Standard at the Corban Indoor Invite. She finished second in the 3000 meter race walk with a time of 14:24.70, setting a school record and currently ranking No. 3 in the NAIA this season.
Women’s Indoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
Corban University’s Kayla Morgan was named the CCC Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Morgan, a junior jumper from Sisters, Ore., had a fantastic outing at the Corban Indoor Invite. She finished as the top competitor in the high jump with a mark of 1.68m to reach an “A” Standard. She currently holds the No. 9 mark in the NAIA this season.
Baseball – Player
Lewis-Clark State College’s Noah Weintraub was named the CCC Baseball Player of the Week.
Weintraub, a junior outfielder from Redmond, Wash., had an outstanding outing for LC State, helping the Warriors to a 2-2 week at the East/West Challenge in Florida. He recorded eight hits, including two doubles for a .615 batting average and a .769 slugging percentage. Across the weekend he tallied six runs, an RBI, and stole a base. Defensively he managed a perfect fielding percentage.
Baseball – Pitcher
Corban University’s Josephan Gonzalez was named the CCC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Gonzalez, a junior from Selah, Wash., had an outstanding performance on the mound against Simpson University, leading the Warriors to a 12-1 run-rule victory. In five innings he did not allow a hit or earned run while striking out seven batters for a perfect ERA.
