"Excellent start for our team today," Corban head coach Todd Bos shared earlier today. "Definitely some marks we can build off as we work hard to improve in the coming weeks. Grateful for the nice weather and good competition."
The local meet featuring just two university programs, two club teams, and a myriad of unattached competitors flew through the morning and into the afternoon with the 30-event meet wrapping up shortly after the conclusion of the men's and women's hammer throw on Corban's campus. The Warriors secured three different event winners along with 15 top three finishes.
Among the event winners this afternoon for the Warriors was true freshman Aaden Aackley in the men's 400m hurdles with a 58.39 final time to take the top finish, along with a 1.65m men's high jump leap from senior Will Maupin and 3.05m vault from senior Leah Nastri in the women's pole vault.
Six Warriors earned runner-up finishes in seven different events, which included: freshman Julianna Bell (13.35 - women's 100m), Aackley (15.96 - men's 110m hurdles), redshirt sophomore Patience Haff (1:03.55 - women's 400m), freshman Carrie Babcock (4:56.75 - women's 1,500m), freshman Caleb Jannsen (38.45m - men's hammer throw and 51.13m - men's javelin), and senior Gabrielle Tata-Rodrigues (42.15m - women's hammer throw).
