REDDING, Calif. – After a strong practice round on Sunday was followed up with a frustrating day one performance for the Corban University Women's Golf team, the Warriors responded aggressively in the final round of the Simpson Spring Invite to improve their team performance by twenty-six strokes and leap two programs to finish in fourth among the seven teams in attendance at the Riverview Golf & Country Club.

"Wow, what a difference a day can make!" Corban head coach Charlie Marshall joyfully shared when asked to comment on the day two performance from his ladies' team. "Our gals responded by improving by twenty-six strokes from yesterday and passed up the Bushnell ladies by two strokes. Everyone improved, especially Maddy! This should give us the confidence we need going into our last two tournaments."
The team title was claimed by Oregon Tech (622) after the Lady Owls overcame their slight deficit to Grace College (627) over the final 18 holes. Corban (702) had the biggest single-round improvement from day one to day two by any of the seven teams in Redding, California this week, improving from a 364 to a 338 to finish in fourth overall and passing both fellow Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) member Bushnell University (704) and Providence Christian College (737) along the way.
Individually, all four of the Navy and Gold student-athletes posted better round scores throughout Tuesday's competition, with graduate student Kristin Senatra moving into the top ten and claiming an eighth-place finish at +15 overall after she shaved seven strokes off her day one score. Freshman Yaone Mokgatle climbed to 16th overall at +24 with a four-stroke improvement, while freshman Ashlyn Thomas finished in a tie for 30th at +40 and also bettered her scorecard by four-strokes. However, the best single-day improvement on the squad came from freshman Madelyn Moore, who soared up to a three-way tie in 33rd at +47 and improved upon her game by eleven strokes over the 18 holes played out in northern California.
In two weeks, the Warriors will participate in their final regular season tournament for the 2024-25 season, as they'll venture to Eagle Point, Oregon at the Stone Ridge Golf Club for one last CCC tourney hosted by Southern Oregon University.
