2025 CCC Multi Events Championships Preview

CORVALLIS, Ore.  The first weekend of the 2025 Cascade Collegiate Conference Track and Field Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, is set to begin tomorrow.

The Multi Events Championships set off at Oregon Tech in Klamath Falls, Ore., with the rest of championships taking place at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Ore., on May 9-10.

Awards will be presented at the full meet at SOU in May. The top three finishers in each event will earn All-CCC honors and the top eight will accumulate points that go towards their teams' totals at the final meet.
 
The men’s decathlon begins at 10 a.m. PT with the 100-meter dash as the first of the 10 events. The long jump, shot put, high jump and 400-meter events follow on the same day, starting 30 minutes after the conclusion of the previous event.
 
Friday gets started with the 100-meter high hurdles, followed by the discus, pole vault, and javelin, before the 1500-meter closes out the events.
 
12 men are set to compete in the decathlon with five holding spots at the top of the NAIA. OIT’s Eli Stevens is currently leading the conference and sitting at No. 2 in the NAIA with 6668 points. Last year, the junior placed sixth at the conference event. Three Mounties follow right behind with Justin Krabbenhoft (6617) Tyler Jones (6256) and Judson Mansfield (6069), holding the No. 4, No. 12, and No. 14 spots in the NAIA, respectively. Southern Oregon’s Coleton Urquhart is looking for another strong attempt after earning third place last year. The sophomore is ranked No. 18 in the NAIA with 5793 points.

On the women’s side, the heptathlon is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m., beginning with the 100-meter hurdles. The high jump, shot put and 200-meter follow on the first day, starting 30 minutes after the conclusion of the previous event.
 
Friday opens with the long jump, before the athletes compete in the javelin and close with the 800-meter run.
 
10 women qualified for the heptathlon with five holding spots in the top 20 of the NAIA. Leading the conference and the NAIA this season is EOU junior, Adrienne Washington with 4638 points. SOU’s Abi Stevens follows with 4617 points and is coming off a National Championship in the indoor pentathlon. The senior finished third in the conference meet last year and is ranked No. 3 in the NAIA.

Next is C of I’s Mattie Shirts who is ranked No. 10 with 4035 points. Following close behind is University of British Columbia’s Sarah Pimblett (3973) and Alessandra Ionescu-Zanetti (3676) who are ranked No. 11 and No. 19 in the NAIA, respectively.

Student-Athletes from Lewis-Clark State College, The Evergreen State College, and Multnomah will also be competing in the dynamic and thrilling two day event.
