UBC Wins 2025 CCC Men’s Golf Championship

RESULTS | TOURNAMENT CENTRAL

PORTLAND, Ore. – University of British Columbia earned the 2025 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Golf regular season and tournament championship, presented by U.S. Bank, for the fifth time.
 
The No. 9-ranked team in the NAIA finished with dominance to land on top of the leaderboard with a 16-stroke victory. British Columbia completed the tournament with rounds of 294, 279, and 282 for a total of 855, 21 strokes under par.
 
The final team scores are: 2. Lewis-Clark State College, 295-294-282—871 (-5) 3. Southern Oregon University, 302-300-287—889 (+13) 4. College of Idaho, 298-305-301—904 (+28) 5. Oregon Tech, 302-311-303—916 (+40) 6. Corban University, 306-298-315—919 (+43) 7. Multnomah, 319-308-295—922 (+46) 8. Walla Walla University, 318-309-305—932 (+56) 9. Bushnell University, 315-314-321—950 (+74).
 
Aidan Schumer (78-64-68—210) of UBC had another outstanding final round to complete the championship carding a nine under par and claim individual medalist honors. It was a tight tournament with Lucas Rynearson (73-69-72—214) of C of I, John Paul Kahlert (75-70-69—214) of UBC, and Alex Navarro (73-73-68—214) of LC State all finishing five under par to tie for second. Mackenzie Bickell (72-73-72—217) of UBC and Lucas Ortega (74-72-71—217) of LCSC tied with the next lowest score at two under par to round out the top tournament finishers.
 
British Columbia also won the CCC regular-season title with a tremendous 31-0-1 record, earning the Cascade Conference automatic qualification to the NAIA Men’s Golf Championship, which takes place on May 20-23, at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.
 
Zach Anderson of Lewis-Clark State was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year. This is his second time receiving the honor.
College of Idaho was designated with the Team Sportsmanship Award for the second consecutive year.
 
The CCC Player of the Year is awarded to the golfer with the lowest stroke average during the conference season. For the second consecutive year, Dylan MacDonald of UBC shared the honor with a teammate. Schumer claimed the CCC Co-Player award with both Thunderbirds holding a 70.2 stroke average.

The All-Cascade Collegiate Conference Team is awarded by the top-ten finishers in order of stroke average. Golfers must have played in a minimum of six CCC rounds to be eligible.
