CORVALLIS, Ore. –
The following 10 Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes have been recognized as the CCC Players of the Week for their performances during competition from March 31 – April 6, 2025.
Baseball – Player
(RV) Lewis-Clark State College’s Ike George was named the CCC Baseball Player of the Week.
George, a senior from Boise, Idaho, had tremendous performances on the diamond, helping lead the Warriors to a 5-0 week. He recorded a .600 batting average and a 1.000 slugging percentage with 12 hits, four doubles and two triples. He also added 10 runs and 10 RBIs while earning a .667 on base percentage. He also held an impressive .947 fielding percentage.
Baseball – Pitcher
Oregon Tech’s Tim Williams was named the CCC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Williams, a senior from Emmett, Idaho, had a fantastic performance on the mound against Eastern Oregon University, leading to a 10-4 victory. He did not let up a run or walk in seven innings and allowed just three hits while striking out a season high nine batters for a perfect ERA and a .43 WHIP.
Softball – Player
No. 2-ranked Oregon Tech’s Nita Cook was named the CCC Softball Player of the Week.
Cook, a junior second baseman from Vernonia, Ore., had an outstanding outing for the Owls, helping lead to a 4-2 week. She recorded 13 hits, including three doubles for a .565 batting average and a .696 slugging percentage. Across the weekend she tallied nine runs, three RBIs, and stole six bases. She was also perfect on defense to round out her impressive performances.
Softball – Pitcher
No. 11-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Kylie Parsons was named the CCC Softball Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.
Parsons, a senior from Pendleton, Ore., had a terrific performance on the mound for EOU against C of I. She allowed just two earned runs across 14 innings with 15 strikeouts for a 1.00 ERA and a .64 WHIP.
Beach Volleyball – Pair
No. 9-ranked College of Idaho’s Liza Montalbo and Maya Blake were named the CCC Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week.
The sophomore and junior duo recorded four wins while hosting the final CCC regular season tournament as the third pair. They shut out opponents from Northwest University (21-16, 21-15) and Simpson University (21-13, 21-12), helping the Yotes to two team sweeps. The pair's weekend was highlighted by two dominant victories over No. 7-ranked SOU’s Kira Sandoval and Lucretia Benolken (21-10, 21-11; 21-19, 16-21, 15-11).
Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
College of Idaho’s Daniel Butler was named the CCC Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Butler, a graduate student runner from Buhl, Idaho, had an outstanding week at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic. He finished second out of 74 total athletes in the 10,000m with a time of 29:39.86 to reach an NAIA “A” Standard which currently ranks second in the NAIA this season. He also broke C of I’s program record by 30 seconds.
Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
Bushnell University’s Kaleo Wellman was named the CCC Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Wellman, a sophomore jumper from Lebanon, Ore., broke his own program record at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic. He finished first out of 18 total athletes in the long jump with a mark of 7.41m to reach an NAIA “A” Standard which currently ranks seventh the NAIA this season.
Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – Track Athlete
The Evergreen State College’s Alauna Carstens was named the CCC Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Carstens, a junior runner from Shelton, Wash., had a successful weekend at the Whitworth Peace Meet. She won the 10,000m by over a minute with a time of 35:33.05 to reach an NAIA “A” Standard which currently ranks fifth in the NAIA this season. Her time also broke the Boppell Track and Evergreen program record.
Women’s Outdoor Track & Field – Field Athlete
University of British Columbia’s Sarah Pimblett was named the CCC Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Pimblett, a junior jumper from Medicine Hat, Alta., set a new personal record at the SFU High Performance Meet. She finished first in the high jump with a mark of 1.70m to reach an NAIA “A” Standard which currently ranks fourth in the NAIA this season.
