CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference announced its 2025 Track & Field Athletes of the Year, honoring Southern Oregon University’s Abi Stevens and University of British Columbia’s Dylan Uhrich for their exceptional seasons.
The athletes were nominated and voted on by the head CCC track and field coaches.
Stevens, a senior from West Allis, Wis., capped a historic year by winning both the Indoor and Outdoor NAIA National Championships in the multi-events with 3,824 points in the pentathlon and 4,961 points in the heptathlon.
At the CCC Championships, Stevens dominated the heptathlon with a winning score of 4,995 points and went on to earn All-CCC honors in three additional events with second place in the 100-meter hurdles (14.82) along with third place finishes in the high jump (1.69m), and long jump (5.59m). In total, she accounted for half of Southern Oregon’s team points.
Stevens added to her stellar resume with NAIA All-American honors in both the Indoor (sixth place) and Outdoor (fourth place) high jump, closing out her collegiate career as the most decorated athlete in SOU history.
Uhrich, a senior from Vancouver, B.C., capped his career in dominant fashion by defending his NAIA title in the 3000-meter steeplechase, running one of only three sub-nine-minute times in the NAIA this season, two of which he owns. He entered the national championship ranked No. 1 in the event since mid-April and delivered with a repeat gold-medal performance.
He also contributed to UBC’s team score at nationals by running the opening leg of the 4x800-meter relay, which finished eighth.
Earlier in the season, Uhrich earned CCC Track Athlete of the Week honors after a standout performance at the Bryan Clay Invitational, where he ran a personal best in the steeplechase and hit the NAIA “A” standard in the 1500 meters.
