DALLAS, Texas - Oregon Tech women's golfer Quincy Beyrouty was named today to the College Sports Communicators NAIA At-Large Academic All-America Team as a second-team pick - the first ever Lady Owls golfer to earn the distinction.
The at-large team represents NAIA student-athletes in the sports of golf, lacrosse, wrestling, bowling, competitive cheer/dance and beach volleyball. Athletes must be at least a sophomore in academic standing, maintain a 3.50 cumulative GPA, compete in 90% of contests, be a starter or key reserve and be selected by a panel of athletic communicators. Over 71,000 student-athletes compete among the NCAA Division I, II, III and the NAIA in at-large sports, with only 0.2% of student-athletes earning this honor.
Beyrouty recently graduated with a degree in business marketing, following a record-setting season in which she was named Cascade Conference Player of the Year and a first-team NAIA All-American, while rewriting the OIT women's golf record book for lowest 36-hole and 54-hole scores and lowest single-season stroke average.
