CCC Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The following nine Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes have been recognized as the CCC Players of the Week for their performances during competition from August 25 – 31, 2025.

Men’s Cross Country – Runner
Lewis-Clark State’s Kobe Wessels was named the CCC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Wessels, a senior from Lewiston, Idaho, led the Warriors at the Clash of the Inland Northwest. He reached 33rd place out of 100 total runners with a time of 19:38.4 in the 6k.

Women’s Cross Country – Runner
Lewis-Clark State’s Damaris Kibiwot was named the CCC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Kibiwot, a sophomore from Eldoret, Kenya, led the Warriors and was the top non-DI runner at the Clash of the Inland Northwest. She reached 9th place out of 75 total runners with a time of 14:41.5 in the 4k.

Men’s Soccer – Defensive Player
College of Idaho’s Matej Hron was named the CCC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Hron, a senior goalkeeper from Brno, Czech Republic, kept the Yotes to a scoreless tie against Embry-Riddle (Ariz.). He made six saves during his full time in the net to secure the draw.

Men’s Soccer – Offensive Player
Northwest University’s Matthew Ludlow was named the CCC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Ludlow, a junior forward from Gig Harbor, Wash., delivered an impressive weekend for the Eagles. He scored four goals in two games, including a hat trick, while posting a .700 shot on goal percentage.

Women’s Soccer – Defensive Player
Rocky Mountain College’s Matea Vernon was named the CCC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Vernon, a freshmen goalkeeper from Gaston, Ore., played a pivotal role for the Battlin' Bears this weekend. In her first collegiate starts she saved all five shots she faced to lead Rocky to two shutout victories in Arizona.

Women’s Soccer – Offensive Player
Rocky Mountain College’s Emma Lensing was named the CCC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Lensing, a senior forward from Billings, Mont., powered the Battlin' Bears to two wins this weekend in Arizona. She netted four of Rocky's five goals, including a hat trick, while recording a .600 shot on goal percentage. She now sits tied for the CCC lead in goals scored.
 
Volleyball – Attacker
Walla Walla University’s Sahara Browning was named the CCC Attacker of the Week.
 
Browning, a junior outside hitter from Walla Walla, Wash., had a wonderful weekend for the Wolves. She helped lead Walla Walla to two wins, including an upset over No. 11-ranked Montana Western University. She tallied 42 kills over seven sets (6 k/s) on a .388 hitting percentage while adding 11 digs and five blocks defensively. Her efforts were highlighted by becoming the first player in program history to surpass 700 career kills.

Volleyball – Defender
Corban University’s Addison Mills was named the CCC Defender of the Week.

Mills, a sophomore outside hitter from Ephrata, Wash., played a key role in leading the Warriors to three wins over the weekend. She totaled 19 blocks across 10 sets (1.90 b/s) while also contributing 10 kills and three digs to cap off a strong all-around performance.

Volleyball – Setter
Eastern Oregon’s Kate Stidham was named the CCC Setter of the Week.
 
Stidham, a junior setter from Central Point, Ore., helped keep the Mounties undefeated this weekend. She dished out 104 assists (8.67 a/s) and added 31 digs (2.58 d/s) over 12 sets. She also contributed a kill and three service aces in EOU’s thrilling wins over ranked opponents.
