KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Bushnell University junior long jumper Kaleo Wellman re-etched his name in the Beacons' outdoor track & field record book, last week, winning the long jump with a mark of 7.64 meters at the Pacific Northwest Invite, in Corvallis, Ore.
Thursday, March 26, he earned the nod as the first NAIA Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for the 2026 season.
Wellman's 7.64-meter jump is the top NAIA mark in the event, this season, and in the process, he broke his own school record at Bushnell by 8.5 inches. The Lebanon, Ore., native won the event, hosted by Oregon State, by more than two feet.
The Beacons are off until Saturday, April 4, when they travel to the Jen Boyman Invitational, hosted by Linfield, in McMinnville, Oregon.
