2026 CCC Multi-Event Championships Preview

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The first event of the 2026 Cascade Collegiate Conference Track & Field Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, is set to begin tomorrow.

The Multi-Events portion of the championships will take place April 16-17 at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon, while the full conference meet is scheduled for May 8-9 at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande, Oregon.

Conference awards will be presented at the full meet in May. The top three finishers in each event will earn All-CCC honors, while the top eight will score team points toward the final standings.

The men’s decathlon is set to begin at 10 a.m. PT with the 100-meter dash. The long jump, shot put, high jump, and 400-meter dash will follow on day one, each starting approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the previous event.

Competition resumes Friday with the 110-meter hurdles, followed by the discus, pole vault, and javelin, before concluding with the 1500-meter run.

A full field of 16 men is set to compete in the decathlon, led by Oregon Tech’s Eli Stevens, who ranks No. 7 on the NAIA leaderboard with a score of 6,316 recorded at the RiverHawk Multi in March. College of Idaho’s Trevor Trent follows at No. 15 with 5,857 points, achieved at the Pacific Multi, while British Columbia’s Samuel McGee sits No. 21 with 5,550 points from the UBC Open.

On the women’s side, the heptathlon will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the 100-meter hurdles. The high jump, shot put, and 200-meter dash will complete the first day of competition.

Friday’s events include the long jump, javelin throw, and the 800-meter run to close out the competition.

The women’s heptathlon features a highly competitive field of 16 athletes, including six ranked in the top 20 nationally. Eastern Oregon’s Lizzy Grandle leads the conference at No. 6 on the NAIA leaderboard with 4,587 points, recorded at the Pacific Multi. British Columbia’s Alessandra Ionescu-Zanetti is ranked No. 9 with 4,235 points from the UBC Open, followed closely by Eastern Oregon’s Kaliyah Chronister at No. 10 with 4,193 points.

Trinity Western’s Claire Nichol enters ranked No. 12 with a season best 4,097 points, while Southern Oregon’s Gabby Morfin sits No. 16 with 3,918 points. College of Idaho’s Dakota Bussen rounds out the top conference contenders at No. 17 with 3,680 points.

Student-athletes from across the Cascade Conference will compete in the demanding two day event, showcasing versatility and endurance in one of track and field’s most challenging disciplines.
