CCC Multi-Event Championships – Day One

ASHLAND, Ore. – [RESULTS] The first day of the 2026 Cascade Collegiate Conference Track & Field Multi-Event Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, took place Thursday at Southern Oregon University.

In the heptathlon Eastern Oregon University’s Lizzy Grandle opened the competition in dominant and historic fashion. Grandle won all four day one events to take a commanding lead with 3,136 points, holding a 546-point advantage over the next competitor.

Grandle posted top finishes in the 100-meter hurdles (15.09), high jump (1.61m), shot put (12.71m), and 200-meter dash (25.39), setting the tone early in the competition.

Trinity Western University’s Claire Nichol sits in second place with 2,590 points. Nichol placed second in the 100-meter hurdles (15.34) and third in the high jump (1.52m) while adding eighth place finishes in both the shot put (8.81m) and 200-meter dash (27.18).

Eastern Oregon’s Kaliyah Chronister is currently third with 2,567 points. Chronister earned a runner up finish in the 200-meter dash (26.50) and added fourth place finishes in both the 100-meter hurdles (15.68) and high jump (1.49m).

University of British Columbia’s Alessandra Ionescu-Zanetti delivered consistent performances across the board, placing between third and fifth in each event to sit fourth overall with 2,559 points.

College of Idaho’s Mattie Shirts holds fifth place with 2,530 points, highlighted by a second place finish in the high jump (1.58m). Trinity Western’s Eileen Noordam rounds out the top six with 2,488 points, posting the second best mark in the shot put at 12.39 meters.

In the decathlon Eastern Oregon’s Nathan Wachs leads through five events with 3,583 points, holding a 169-point advantage. Wachs claimed victories in the long jump (6.74m) and high jump (1.94m) while adding a second-place finish in the 100-meter dash (11.05). He also placed fifth in the 400-meter dash (51.64) and 11th in the shot put (10.08m).

Oregon Tech’s Eli Stevens sits in second place with 3,414 points. Stevens highlighted his day with a win in the 400-meter dash (49.86) while also finishing third in the 100-meter dash (11.11) and fourth in the long jump (6.55m). He added ninth place finishes in the shot put (10.30m) and the high jump (1.70m).

College of Idaho’s Trevor Treat is currently third with 3,392 points. Trent opened the day with a win in the 100-meter dash (10.98) and added second-place finishes in both the long jump (6.58m) and 400-meter dash (50.20).

Oregon Tech’s Ryan Doherty sits in fourth place overall with 3,308 points, highlighted by a runner up finish in the high jump (1.85m).

Additional highlights included College of Idaho’s Aiden Fiske winning the shot put with a throw of 13.06 meters while Southern Oregon’s Zak Weddell placed second at 11.69 meters.

Friday’s heptathlon events include the long jump, javelin, and 800-meter run and are set to begin at 10:15 a.m. The decathlon resumes at 10 a.m. with the 110-meter hurdles, followed by the discus, pole vault, javelin, and 1,500-meter run.
