2026 CCC Track and Field Championship Preview

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, is set to begin Friday in La Grande, Oregon. Over 200 competitors will be vying for podium honors, as well as looking to solidify qualifying marks for the NAIA National Championships to be held later this month.

All information can be found on the Championship Page, including the event schedule and live results

Eastern Oregon University earned the men’s team title last year while University of British Columbia took home the trophy on the women's side.
The Thunderbirds went on to sweep both the men's and women's NAIA Championship titles last season.

The top-three placers in each event will earn All-Conference accolades. A top male and female athlete will be named in the track, as well as the field events following the championships.

Action begins Friday with the women’s and men’s hammer throw starting at 1:00 p.m. The shotput will also take place at the same time, along with the men's pole vault. The first race to hit the rubber will be the men’s and women’s 5k racewalk, followed by the 4x800 relay at 1:45 p.m., both only qualify for the NAIA Championship, not counted towards CCC team scores. The first CCC championship track event will be the women’s steeplechase at 2:05 p.m. The day will end with the men’s 10k at approximately 5:00 p.m.

The two-day event concludes Saturday, starting with a graduation ceremony at 10:00 a.m. for a number of senior student-athletes who will be competing during their official campus commencement. Then action will kick off with multiple field events beginning at 10:30 a.m. The last event of the meet will be the men’s 4x400 relay, set to begin at 3:55 p.m. Final awards will be handed out at 4:15 p.m.

The multi-events were completed in late March at Southern Oregon. Eli Stevens of Oregon Tech claimed the decathlon title, contributing early points for the Owls, while EOU’s Lizzy Grandle captured the heptathlon and set a new conference scoring record.

In the latest edition of the CCC Podcast, Cascade Connects, Commissioner Rob Cashell sits down with Eastern Oregon Track and Field head coach Ben Welch and Grandle ahead of hosting the 2026 CCC Championships. They discuss her return from injury, the tradition of excellence within the Mountie program, and the competitive landscape of the CCC heading into championship day.
