CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Geoducks and Warriors began the CCC season with wins.
CCC Standings
The Evergreen State College def. Walla Walla University, 80-76
Evergreen State secured its first win of the season with an exciting 80-76 overtime victory over Walla Walla. Evergreen recorded the majority of its points in the second half and ended with an impressive 55.6 field goal percentage. TESC also led the game with 40 rebounds, 20 points off turnovers, and 18 points from the bench. The Geoducks were guided by a stellar conference opening from Jalyn Sackrider who got a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds, along with five assists, a block, and a steal. Walla Walla forced extra minutes and was impressive from the free throw line, making 14-of-19. The Wolves were paced by Chariah Daniels double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds. Daniels also had seven of the teams 12 steals.

No. 8 Lewis-Clark State College def. Northwest University, 79-71
Lewis-Clark State College defeated Northwest in a tight 79-71 victory to begin its conference season. The Eagles brought the heat right away, looking for its first win by managing 21 points in the first period. The Warriors began slow and had to come from behind after only scoring nine in the first period. LC State eventually found its groove and ended with 14 steals, eight blocks, and a 47.6 field goal percentage. LCSC also led the game with 39 rebounds, 25 points off turnovers, and 19 points from the bench. Five Warriors scored in double digits and Maddie Holm managed a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds along with five assists, a block, and a steal. The Eagles put up a strong fight and led in three points (10-20) and free throws (9-13) made while being led by a game-high incredible 26 point night from Maya DuChesne.
