LEWISTON, Idaho – Each member of the LC State Women's Golf lineup sits in the top 10 after the first round of The Warrior Fall Invitational on Monday. The Warrior women currently lead No. 20 Oregon Tech by four strokes in the team standings at the Lewiston Golf & Country Club.
LC State ended the first round with a 25-over-par score of 313 ahead of OIT's 29-over total. OIT's Madison Dick holds a one-stroke lead at 2-over individually over College of Idaho's Reece Garey.
"The women played a steady round today that leaves them with a few shot lead heading into the final round," coach Zach Anderson said. "We had a few holes that kept us from having a really solid day but all of them saw some really good stretches of golf. Excited for this opportunity."
Freshman Taylor Mire leads the Warrior women in third place and is three strokes off the lead at 5-over, 77. Isabella Barquet was one stroke behind at 6-over, 78 and is tied for fourth heading into Tuesday.
Dallis Shockey, Giulia Belfontali and Jane Barry are tied for sixth with matching rounds of 7-over, 79. The trio is one stroke back of teammate Barquet in a tight individual race.
Chase Caruso, Natalia Gomez and Myah Parsons are competing as individuals with Caruso leading that group in 13
th place overall. She carded a 9-over round and Gomez is two strokes back in a tie for 17
th. Parsons is tied for 26
th at 20-over.
