KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Eastern Oregon University's Kylan Guerra hauled in the NAIA Men's Wrestler of the Week award following his title in the 174-pound weight class at the Evergreen Open this past weekend.
The sophomore swiftly navigated his competition at 174 pounds, claiming the Evergreen Open champion title after compiling three wins by fall and one win by technical fall. Guerra won by fall in 5:29 over Lamonte Sandling in the first round, a win by fall (2:47) over Nelson Wong in the second round, and a win by fall (2:58) over Riley Jones in the third round. He then went on to defeat Robert Lee 18-8 in the championship bout to take home the title.
Eastern Oregon men's wrestling is back on the mat for the Missouri Valley Invite in Marshall, Mo., on Jan. 23-24.
