Under Armour Team of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Corban University Men’s Basketball team was named the Under Armour Team of the Week for February 2 – 8, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.

Corban earned the honors after delivering back-to-back statement victories over ranked and top conference opponents, highlighted by a dominant home performance against No. 22-ranked Oregon Tech and a gritty win over Southern Oregon University.

The Warriors opened the week with a 90-70 rout of No. 22 Oregon Tech, handing the Hustlin’ Owls their most lopsided loss of the season. Corban flipped a competitive first half into a decisive outcome by holding OIT to just 28 second-half points while showing elite efficiency on the offensive end. The Warriors shot a season-best 61.7 percent from the field and outscored the Owls 50-28 after the break, building a double-digit lead early in the second half and never relinquishing control.

Five Warriors scored in double figures, led by T.J. Zimmermann’s 20 points, while Anjay Cortez added a season-high 19 off the bench. Joe Gould delivered a complete performance with 17 points, seven rebounds, and six steals, as Corban’s defensive pressure disrupted one of the CCC’s most consistent offenses.

Corban followed up Friday’s performance with a 79-71 victory over Southern Oregon, securing its second consecutive win over a conference contender. The Warriors controlled the paint, outscoring the Raiders 60-22 inside, and converted defensive stops into offensive opportunities throughout the night. Zimmermann again paced the offense with 25 points, while Gould added 14 points, nine assists, and six rebounds. Corban shot over 55 percent from the floor and limited Southern Oregon to just two fastbreak points.

With the two wins, Corban not only knocked off a nationally ranked opponent but also gained momentum in the CCC standings, showcasing efficiency, depth, and defensive intensity in a pivotal week of conference play.

Next weekend, the Warriors will host the defending national champions from College of Idaho and current CCC leaders, Eastern Oregon University.
