CORVALLIS, Ore. –
The following five Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes have been recognized as the CCC Players of the Week for their performances during competition from August 17 – 23, 2026.
Men’s Soccer – Defensive Player
(RV) Rocky Mountain College’s Biruk Paulos-Negatu was named the CCC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Paulos-Negatu, a sophomore goalkeeper from Ethiopia, helped lead the Battlin’ Bears to a 2-1 victory over Grandview and a scoreless draw against William Penn. He played full time in the net during both matches, resulting in eight saves on a .889 save percentage.
Men’s Soccer – Offensive Player
Southern Oregon University’s JP Warnell was named the CCC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Warnell, a junior forward from Camas, Wash., guided the Raiders to a 4-1 victory over Simpson University. He scored on all three of his shots for a perfect shooting percentage in the Raiders’ opening match.
Volleyball – Attacker
No. 2-ranked Eastern Oregon University’s Keira Vaughn was named the CCC Attacker of the Week.
Vaughn, a senior outside hitter from Eugene, Ore., delivered a stellar weekend for EOU. She totaled 48 kills (3.20 per set) with an impressive .415 attack percentage. She also added nine digs and eight blocks to help the Mounties remain undefeated to start the season.
Volleyball – Defender
Oregon Tech’s Aleksen Thayer was named the CCC Defender of the Week.
Thayer, a senior middle blocker from Truckee, Calif., powered OIT to a perfect 4-0 weekend. She tallied an outstanding 29 blocks (1.93 b/s) while adding 20 kills and six digs across 15 sets, allowing the Owls to demonstrate their dominance early on the season.
Volleyball – Setter
No. 18-ranked College of Idaho’s Shaynee McWilliams was named the CCC Setter of the Week.
McWilliams, a sophomore setter from Meridian, Idaho, sparked C of I to a 4-0 opening weekend. She recorded a phenomenal 100 assists (7.69 a/s), along with 48 digs (3.69 d/s), 15 kills and four blocks as the Yotes look to build on their strong start to the season.
