COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – No. 12 LC State Volleyball earned its second Cascade Conference victory of the season on Wednesday with a 3-0 sweep of Walla Walla on the road. The Warriors hit an efficient .429 to take the contest by set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 27-25.
Mikale Roy led the contest with 13 kills with an impressive .600 attack percentage, and freshman Addison Wilson tallied seven at a .700 clip with four blocks.
The win improves the Warrior record to 8-1 on the season and 2-1 in Cascade Conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Walla Walla started off with momentum and jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first frame. A kill by Mikale Roy got the Warriors on the board, but another short rally had the deficit at 7-3. Sammi Humphrey dumped a ball over the net to set off a five-point LC State run that featured kills by Wilson and Taylor Boyce and put the Warriors in front 8-7. WWU responded to keep the back-and-forth going before a kill by Roy and ace by Ella Stosich put the Warriors up for good at 17-13. Humphrey, Hannah Dotson and Kadence Moore added service aces to move the frame along, and Jordynn Albright and Karissa Lindner teamed up on a block for set point, 24-17. Lindner ended the set with a kill on the next play.
The Wolves gained momentum to keep the second frame tied until 9-9. A kill by Roy, ace by Stosich and block by Hadyn Smith and Wilson pushed the Warriors ahead 12-9, and contributions from Roy, Wilson, Albright and Dotson grew the advantage to 19-12. Swings by Boyce, Lindner and Michaela Romine forced a Walla Walla timeout at 22-14 before a kill by Romine and two by Smith ended the set 25-17.
LC State answered a 3-0 run by WWU with kills by Romine and Smith, and a block by Wilson had the score tied 4-4. The Wolves rallied for a run of five to pull ahead 9-4 and maintained the slim lead until 22-19. Roy tallied three kills to tie the set 23-23, and another swing by the sophomore along with a block by Albright and Wilson gave LC a 25-24 edge. Walla Walla answered to tie the frame 25-25, but a kill by Wilson and ace by Dotson ended the contest with a 27-25 set win.

Roy led the Warriors with 13 kills on a .600 attack percentage and Boyce added 10 at a .389 clip. Wilson tallied seven kills on 10 swings without an error (.700) to go with a match-high four blocks. Lindner added three blocks on the night.
Stosich and Dotson each dealt three service aces and Stosich collected 10 digs. Teagan Scott led LC State with 15 assists and Humphrey added 12.
The Warriors hit .429 as a team which ranks 11
th all-time in a single match. LC State had just eight attack errors on 84 swings.
