Rize Laboratory Players of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. The following four CCC student-athletes have been recognized as the WVT Laboratory Players of the Week for their performances during competition from Nov. 14-20, 2022.
 
Men’s Basketball –Player
Southern Oregon University’s Will Graves was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Graves, a senior guard from Eugene, Ore., had a stellar offensive output in the Raiders’ 111-83 victory over Simpson University. He shot 8-for-9 from the field, including a perfect 4-of-4 from distance to finish with 22 points. Graves has now scored in double figures in four-straight games and is averaging 12.6 points per game on the season.
 
Women’s Basketball –Player
(RV) Eastern Oregon University’s Beverly Slater was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Slater, a junior from Boise, Idaho, dominated all weekend at the Les Schwab Invitational, averaging 19.5 points per game while shooting an efficient 56-percent from the field, including 50-percent from beyond the arc. Not only did she lead the team in scoring, Slater also averaged double digit rebounds with 10.5 per game, highlighted by a 13-rebound performance against Montana Tech.
 
Men’s Wrestling – Wrestler
(RV) Southern Oregon University’s Alex Hernandez was named the Rize Laboratory Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
 
Hernandez, a junior 174-pound wrestler from San Diego, Calif., helped the Raiders win both of their duals on the week, including a 21-18 upset of No. 7-ranked Eastern Oregon in which he knocked off No. 10-ranked Keegan Mulhill with a 3-1 decision on a takedown in the final seconds.
 
Women’s Wrestling – Wrestler
No. 1-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Joye Levendusky was named the Rize Laboratory Women’s Wrestler of the Week.
 
Levendusky, a senior 170-pounder from Avon, N.Y., went 6-1 to finish third at the Missouri Valley Open in her weight class. The third-ranked 170-pound wrestler defeated No. 6 Liliana Vergara twice and No. 5 Abby McIntyre once to end her run.
