Under Armour Team of the Week Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Corban’s Men’s Basketball team was named the Under Armour Team of the Week for March 2 – March 8, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.

Corban earned Cascade Conference Team of the Week recognition after capturing the 2026 CCC Tournament Championship with an 87-84 overtime victory over No. 23-ranked Lewis-Clark State in Lewiston.

Entering the postseason as the No. 7 seed, the Warriors completed an impressive run through the conference tournament with three consecutive road victories, including an upset of No. 2-seeded Eastern Oregon before avenging a regular-season loss to Lewis-Clark State in the championship game. The title marks Corban’s third CCC Tournament championship in the past ten seasons and the program’s first since the 2021 spring tournament format.

The championship contest featured a tightly contested battle throughout, with 18 lead changes and 15 ties. Corban led for much of the first half before Lewis-Clark State surged late to take a 41-39 halftime advantage. The two teams traded baskets throughout the second half, with neither side able to create separation before a late game-tying layup forced overtime.

In the extra period, Corban opened with a decisive scoring run and held off a final push from the host Warriors to secure the title and the conference’s second automatic berth to the NAIA National Tournament.

Redshirt junior center Tj Zimmermann led the Warriors with a dominant performance, recording 30 points and eight rebounds. Junior guard Joe Gould added 18 points, seven rebounds, and three assists, while Clyde Harris Jr. and Anjay Cortez contributed 14 and 13 points, respectively. Freshman guard Landon Knox delivered two crucial free throws in the closing seconds to help seal the championship victory.

The tournament title caps a dramatic turnaround for Corban, which had suffered losses to both CCC regular-season co-champions, Lewis-Clark State and Eastern Oregon, late in the regular season before defeating both programs during its championship run.

With the conference tournament crown secured, Corban now advances to the 2026 NAIA Men’s Basketball National Tournament, which begins March 13 where they will head to face No. 12-ranled Arizona Christian University in Chandler, Arizona.
