KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Alauna Carstens won the 6K at the George Oja Invitational, hosted by Linfield, setting The Evergreen State College record and a new record in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, earning NAIA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Oct. 22.
The award is Carstens' third of the 2025 season.
Carstens' 20:15 was the second-fastest 6K in NAIA Women's Cross Country, winning the race by eight seconds over Portland State's Megan Crum. She finished more than a minute in front of the next-nearest NAIA finisher.
Evergreen State has finished the regular-season portion of its 2025 schedule, and the next run for the Geoducks is Nov. 7, at the CCC Women's Cross Country Championship in Independence, Ore.
