KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Eastern Oregon University senior Justin Krabbenhoft of Metaline Falls, Washington has been named the Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week after a standout performance at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Invite on Jan. 23.
The senior competed in three field events last week. He won top billing in the high jump with a mark of 2.03m and pole vault with a mark of 4.40m. Krabbenhoft followed those performances with a fourth place finish in the shot put with a mark of 11.37.
Krabbenhoft also captured the men’s heptathlon title in a field of 11 athletes, piling up 5,465 points to secure the win. The total not only met the NAIA “A” standard to qualify for the national meet, it also vaulted him to the No. 1 ranking in the NAIA and moved him to No. 2 on Eastern Oregon’s all-time heptathlon list.
