PORTLAND, Ore. – No. 12 LC State Volleyball closed out its long road swing on Thursday with its second sweep of the week. The Warriors defeated Warner Pacific (Ore.) 3-0 with set scores of 25-9, 25-16, 25-21.
Addison Wilson tied for the team lead with her career-high eight kills to go with four blocks. Mikale Roy also had eight kills and the Warriors dealt nine aces, led by three from Kendall Focht.
The win improves the Warrior record to 9-1 on the season and 3-1 in Cascade Conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hadyn Smith got the match started with a kill before a swing by Roy started a four-point run. Focht dealt an ace and back-to-back kills by Wilson and Alba Carpena made it 6-1. Smith teamed up with Karissa Lindner on a block for a 12-5 advantage and tallies from Smith and Roy, paired with WPU errors, gave LC State a 20-9 cushion. The Warriors ended the set 25-9 on a six-point run with kills by Carpena and Wilson, block by Michaela Romine and Wilson and two aces from Kadence Moore.
The Warriors maintained control with a 13-3 start to the second frame. Makenzie Stout served two aces in the span and kills by Romine, Lindner and Carpena pushed the margin to 17-10. Wilson notched three straight kills and Focht dumped one over the net to win the set 25-16.
Warner Pacific turned things around in the third frame and led as late as 19-18. LC State rallied with kills from Wilson, Romine and Aubree Lane, along with aces from Focht and Hannah Dotson, to regain the lead at 23-18. Lane ended the match with a kill at 25-21.
STAT RECAP
Roy and Wilson each had eight kills to lead the match, and Romine added seven. Wilson had a big night at the net with four blocks.
Focht led the setters with 16 assists on the night to go with her match-high three aces. Stout and Scott each dished out eight assists and Stout collected a contest-best 13 digs.
LC State hit .333 as a team and held WPU to .076.

LC State returns to Lewiston for its first home Cascade Conference matches of the season next weekend. The Warriors host Evergreen State (Wash.) on Sept. 18 and Northwest (Wash.) on Sept. 19.
