CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 2021 Cascade Collegiate Conference men’s basketball season tips off today, beginning a 22-match schedule to determine who will win the regular-season crown and the first of the CCC’s two automatic qualifiers (AQ). The top eight teams in the final standings will also advance to the CCC Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament presented by U.S. Bank, with the other AQ on the line.
Oregon Tech was picked to win the conference championship, but only one team enters the conference slate with an unblemished record on the line: No. 19-ranked Lewis-Clark State College.
No. 18 College of Idaho (5-2) vs. Eastern Oregon University (3-1)
College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon University have met every season since the 1968-69 season – a stretch of 53-straight years. The Coyotes look to build on a two-game winning streak, while the Mounties are also coasting on a pair of wins.
Multnomah University (4-4) vs. Warner Pacific University (2-2)
Warner Pacific University heads down the road to Multnomah University, with both teams looking to break the .500 barrier on the year. The Knights come off a loss at fifth-ranked Carroll College, while the Lions are looking to bounce back after a pair of losses.
Northwest University (1-2) vs. The Evergreen State College (0-3)
Northwest University is looking to snap a two-game losing streak as it opens CCC action. The Evergreen State College is looking for its first win of the season after dropping three games to open the year.
Corban University (4-2) vs. Bushnell University (2-3)
Corban University looks to shake off a close loss to No. 5-ranked Carroll College (53-50) as it opens the CCC slate. Bushnell University also dropped a battle with the Saints (76-71 in overtime) but comes into the game with the Warriors coming off a win.
Southern Oregon University (2-4) vs. Oregon Tech (2-4)
A much-needed boost is up for grabs as Southern Oregon University and Oregon Tech attempt to atone for slow starts as both enter the conference schedule with a 2-4 record. Both teams went 1-1 at the Flagship Inn Classic, hosted by SOU.
Walla Walla University (0-5) vs. No. 18 Lewis-Clark State College (5-0)
Walla Walla University hosts 18
th-ranked Lewis-Clark State College and looks to snap a five-game losing streak. On the other hand, the Warriors come into the contest looking to build on a five-game winning streak.
