CORVALLIS, Ore. – The first Friday games of the 2023-34 CCC men’s basketball season took place tonight.

Lewis-Clark State College def. The Evergreen State College, 85-60
Lewis-Clark State defeated Evergreen State with a final score of 85-60. LC State had another dominate game and held its largest lead of 33 points in the second half. LCSC also recorded a game high 40 rebounds and had 41 points from the bench. Jaedon Bradley made 21 points and Anthony Peoples Jr. grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Warriors. The Geoducks were paced by Tyler Williford’s 15 points.

(RV) Oregon Tech def. Eastern Oregon University, 84-74
Oregon Tech outscored Eastern Oregon by a total of 84-74 to tip off the conference season. OIT had an outstanding night, making at least 50 percent in every shooting category. Oregon Tech had 48 rebounds and the most they were ever down by was three points. The Owls were led by Kam Osborn’s 23 points and Keegan Shivers’s 11 rebounds. 37 of the Mounties points came from the bench and Garrett Hawkes recorded 22 points, three rebounds, two steals, and a block for EOU.

Southern Oregon University def. No. 2 College of Idaho, 81-75
Southern Oregon upset College of Idaho 81-75 to open its conference season. Southern Oregon exploded after being tied at half, handing C of I its first CCC loss in 30 games. SOU reached a 51.9 field goal percentage and Khalil Chatman made a career-high double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Raiders. Both teams had eight fast breaks and seven steals while also ending with the same 3-point (33.3) and free throw (77.3) percentage. C of I managed to outrebound (42-29) and 38 of its points came off the bench. Johnny Radford paced the Yotes with 19 points.

Walla Walla University def. Northwest University, 79-63
Walla Walla bested Northwest by a final score of 79-63 for its second straight CCC win. WWU held Northwest to a 26.2 field goal percentage and over half of its points came from the paint (42). Soren Dalan (22 points, 11 rebounds) and Almonds Sebirokwa (18 points, 10 rebounds) each recorded double-doubles for the Wolves. Both teams recorded 47 rebounds and five blocks. All of NU’s scorers came from the bench and Luke Howard paced the Eagles with 21 points.

Bushnell University def. Warner Pacific University, 85-68
Bushnell edged out Warner Pacific in an 85-68 victory to tip off its CCC season. The lead changed four times and the score was tied three as both teams ended with a 43.5 field goal percentage. 36 of Bushnell’s points were off the bench and 21 were from second chances. BU also made 17-of-21 free throws and recorded 43 rebounds. Five Beacons reached double figure points and Cory Johnson led all scorers with 18. Over half of WPU’s points came from the paint (36), and the Knights were led by Matt Solomon’s 16 points and seven rebounds.

Corban University def. Multnomah, 88-66
Corban defeated Multnomah by a final score of 88-66. Corban only let up the lead once and reached its highest advantage by 25 points in the second half. CRB had 46 points from the bench, 36 from the paint, 18 off of turnovers, and 14 from second chances. The Warriors made 16-of-20 free throws, recorded 43 rebounds, and were led by Aundree Polk’s game high 24 points. Multnomah’s largest lead was by six and the Lions were paced by Kadeem Nelson’s 18 point night.
