KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2022-23 Men's Basketball All-America Teams on Tuesday.
Three student-athletes represented the Cascade Collegiate Conference on the list. College of Idaho’s Drew Wyman and Eastern Oregon University’s Phillip Malatare were named to the second team. Southern Oregon University’s Atmar Mundu also received honorable mention distinctions.
Wyman, a sophomore guard from Great Falls, Mont., started all 37 games for College of Idaho. He averaged 11.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. Wyman earned All-Conference for the second straight year and was named to the Academic All-America teams on top of his teams National Championship.
Malatare, a senior guard from Arlee, Mont., averaged 18.3 points (second in the CCC), 6 rebounds (10th in the CCC), and 2.7 assists per game. He was voted the CCC Player of the Year and All-Conference to conclude a stellar season. Last year, Malatare received All-American honorable mention.
Mundu, a senior guard from Fremont, Calif., averaged 16 points (seventh in the CCC) and 2.7 3-pointers (third in the CCC) per game. He was also fourth in 3-point percentage (44.3) and scored in double figures each of the first 30 games of the season. Mundu was named All-Conference this season.
All of the selections are made by the All-America Committee and are comprised of first, second and third teams as well as honorable mention. There are 12 members on each of the first three All-America teams.
