NORTHBROOK, Ill. – College of Idaho men's basketball standout Drew Wyman has been named to the inaugural Allstate NACDA Good Works Team (Winter), recognizing his exceptional contributions to community service, academics and athletics.
The Allstate NACDA Good Works Team, announced today, honors 20 collegiate winter sports student-athletes across all divisions for their dedication to service and leadership. This marks the first expansion of the prestigious Good Works Team beyond college football, highlighting athletes who make a difference beyond the playing field.
Wyman has been a champion for youth mentorship and mental health awareness through his work with the Legacy Program, Special Olympics and the Jae Foundation. Through the Yotes Men's Basketball Legacy Program, Wyman and his teammates visit local elementary schools, challenging students to give back to their communities. Those who participate are honored at a Yotes home game, where they walk onto the court and stand for the national anthem. Later in the year, Wyman and the team return to the schools to join the students for recess, fostering a lasting connection with the young athletes.
His work with Special Olympics includes volunteering at the local "Field Day" and holding practices with the Caldwell-area Special Olympics men's basketball program. The team's efforts culminated in a unified basketball game, which drew hundreds of spectators from the community in a show of inclusion and support for athletes of all abilities.
Additionally, Wyman plays a key role in supporting the Jae Foundation, which has partnered with the Yotes as their jersey sponsor this season. Funded by generous donors across the Treasure Valley, the partnership raises awareness for mental health and suicide prevention, particularly among young people. Wyman has served as a spokesperson for the team, delivering a speech at the Jae Foundation game and representing the Yotes at foundation banquets, teacher appreciation events and more.
Beyond his work with these programs, Wyman's commitment to service extends to Hope House. After being named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Montana, he was awarded a financial donation to give to a charity of his choice. Wyman chose to bring the funds to Caldwell, donating them to Hope House to support children in need.
A Gipson Honors Program Scholar with a perfect 4.0 GPA, Wyman is a two-time Academic All-American and a Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Scholar-Athlete of the Year. On the court, Wyman's accomplishments are equally impressive. The four-time First Team All-Conference honoree played a pivotal role in leading the Yotes to an NAIA National Championship and has twice been named an All-American. He recently surpassed 1,000 career points, further cementing his legacy in College of Idaho basketball history.
In addition to his athletic and academic achievements, Wyman serves as Treasurer of the Association of Student-Athletes and Chief of Staff for student government, demonstrating his leadership and dedication to the campus community.
"These student-athletes embody the best of collegiate athletics—not just in competition, but in leadership, service and impact," said Elizabeth Brady, Allstate's chief marketing, customer and communications officer. "From youth empowerment to mental health advocacy, their work changes lives."
The Allstate NACDA Good Works Team will recognize student-athletes' service efforts throughout the year, with additional honorees announced for spring and fall sports.
