2024-25 CCC Men’s Basketball Postseason Awards Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 2024-25 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball postseason awards were announced Tuesday by the conference office.
 
(RV) Lewis Clark State College’s Alton Hamilton was named the CCC Player of the Year. Noah McCord of Multnomah earned Newcomer of the Year. Straton Rogers of No. 1-ranked College of Idaho was voted as Defensive Players of the Year. Kaleb Burnett of Bushnell earned Freshman of the Year. College of Idaho head coach Colby Blaine was named the Coach of the Year. No. 25-ranked Oregon Tech received the Team Sportsmanship Award.
 
Hamilton, a sophomore forward had an outstanding second year for LC State, securing four CCC player of the week honors. Throughout the conference season he scored 354 points, averaging 16.9 per game which ranked fourth in the CCC. He also shot .557 percent from the field which ranked sixth in the conference. The Fontana, Calif., native was a powerhouse defensively, leading the conference in rebounds, averaging 9.8 a game and ranked second in blocked shots with 23 total. He helped the LC Warriors receive national recognition throughout the season, complete conference play with a 17-5 record, and appear in the tournament title game.

McCord transferred from Whatcom Community College and quickly made his mark on the Lion squad. He led the Cascade Conference in steals with 49 total and minutes played, averaging 33.9 a game. He ranked fifth in field goal percentage (.571) and sixth in rebounding (8.2 avg/g) to prove his overall skills on the court. The junior forward earned three CCC Player of the Week honors this season.
 
Rogers, a junior guard from Eagle, Idaho, had another stellar defensive run for the Yotes. He recorded 178 total rebounds (8.5 avg/g) which ranked fourth in CCC play. His efforts helped C of I record another historic season, securing the regular season and tournament champion titles.

Burnett instantly made himself a key asset in his first year as a Beacon. The Junction City, Ore., native tallied a .544 field goal and .825 free throw percentage, both of which ranked in the top 10 in the CCC.
 
Blaine led the top ranked Yotes to another regular season and tournament title. C of I finished the 2024-25 conference season at 21-1. This is his fourth time receiving this honor in his seventh year at the helm of the Yote program.
