2025-26 CCC Men’s Basketball Postseason Awards Announced

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 2026 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball postseason awards were announced Wednesday by the conference office.

Oregon Tech’s Jackson Cooper was named the McDonald's Player of the Year presented by Urban Edge Network, while Southern Oregon University’s Bryce Dyer earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. Eastern Oregon University’s Eamon Monahan was selected as Newcomer of the Year and College of Idaho’s Rey Johnston received Freshman of the Year. Eastern Oregon head coach Chris Kemp was voted the Coach of the Year and his Mounties earned the Athletic Solutions Team Sportsmanship Award.

Cooper, a junior forward for Oregon Tech, started every game this season and was instrumental in leading the Owls to another strong campaign. In CCC play, he ranked first in defensive rebounds (131) and assists (125), second in total rebounds (162), and fifth in both field goal percentage (56.4) and total points (360). He also converted 70-of-99 free throws during conference action. A four-time CCC Player of the Week honoree, Cooper helped guide OIT to national recognition throughout the season and a No. 4 seed in the CCC Tournament after finishing conference play at 14-6.

Dyer, a junior forward for Southern Oregon, delivered a dominant defensive presence all season. He led in total rebounds overall (221) and ranked third in rebounds per game (7.6). In CCC play, he ranked second in three-point percentage (50.0). His efforts helped the Raiders earn national recognition and secure the No. 3 seed in the postseason tournament.

Monahan, a junior guard who transferred from Wenatchee Valley College, made an immediate impact for Eastern Oregon, starting every game this season. In conference contests, he ranked second in free-throw percentage (84.7) and played a key role in guiding the Mountaineers to a share of the CCC Regular Season Championship with a 16-4 conference record.

Johnston quickly became a vital contributor in his freshman season at College of Idaho. In CCC play, he ranked among the top 10 in blocks (18), defensive rebounds (88), and field goal percentage (53.1). Johnston also earned a CCC Player of the Week honor while helping the Yotes finish conference action at 14-6.

Kemp earned Coach of the Year honors for the first time in his fifth season at the helm of Eastern Oregon. He guided the Mountaineers to their first CCC Regular Season title in 13 years. Eastern Oregon led the conference in total points (1,714), scoring average (85.7 points per game), three-point percentage (41.4%), free-throw percentage (81%), and assists per game (16.2). Kemp currently holds a career winning percentage of .640.
